It is hard to believe that our time at the National Opera Studio has come to an end in these unusual circumstances. Whilst it is tough to think of the experiences we lost I am still so grateful for my time there and my wonderful colleagues. We put together this virtual farewell concert with singers and pianist spaced out across the world and it definitely forced us to become well acquainted with new technologies if we hadn't already! It feels lovely to be performing with singers again, even in this format and reminded us all why we do it. The programme features classic operatic ensembles to folk songs and jazz. I had the pleasure of collaborating with my lovely friend and brilliant soprano, Siân Dicker to create a peaceful musical moment during this tumultuous time. Siân and I were so looking forward to performing together at the Queen Elizabeth Hall on the 1st of June as part of the Royal Overseas League Gold Medal which has been postponed due to Covid-19. It still meant a lot to make this video together and feel as though we were performing, I just can't wait until it is in person! 

We chose Zueignung by Strauss for it's simple message of hope and love for those you hold dear.

I had a brilliant time conducting my first live interview with the brilliant Ingrid Surgenor. Ingrid has had an incredible career as a répétiteur and vocal coach as well as being the principal accompanist for the Cardiff Singer of the World competition. She was an inspiration to talk to and offers wonderful advice. My husband and fellow répétiteur, Nathan Harris and I are currently self-isolating during the Covid-19 crisis at my family home in Scotland. After we performed a duet concert together in Vermont this Christmas we recorded one of our favourite pieces - Overture to Candide by Bernstein. We hope you enjoy!
