Mairi Grewar is a Scottish/American pianist, currently based in Austria. Mairi is in demand as a repetiteur and is currently Solorepetitorin at the Tiroler Landestheater, Innsbruck.

Previously she was Assistant Chorus Master at the Nationaltheater Mannheim. She recently performed in Korea at the Daegu International Opera Festival where NTM performed Wagner's Ring Cycle. In summer 2022 Mairi was repetiteur for the British premiere of Mark Adamo's Little Women at Opera Holland Park under the baton of Sian Edwards. From 2020 to 2022 Mairi was Solorepetitorin and pianist for the Ballet at Landestheater Coburg. In December 2021 she made her conducting debut there with Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker. In July 2021, Mairi was coach and pianist for the Georg Solti Academia in Castiglione della Pescaia, working with singers to prepare for upcoming roles at houses such as the Metropolitan Opera and the Royal Opera House.

 Mairi was a Young Artist at the National Opera Studio for the 2019/2020 season. During the NOS Residences Mairi performed with the orchestras of the Welsh National Opera and Opera North. In February 2020 she performed in song recital at the English National Opera. In April 2019 Mairi was chorus répétiteur for Opera Holland Park on their productions of Pucinni’s Manon Lescaut, Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta, Cilea’s L’arlesiana and Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera. She regularly performs with the Opera Holland Park outreach programme Inspire, bringing music to charities and community centres in London.

Mairi was assistant conductor at Berlin Opera Academy for their August 2018 production of Monteverdi's L'incoronazione di Poppea. In the Spring of 2018 Mairi took part in the prestigious Solti Accademia Répétiteur Course in Venice, Italy, where she worked with coaches Pamela Bullock, Johnathan Papp, James Vaughn, Anette Saunders and conductor Richard Bonynge. In the summer of 2017 Mairi was a scholar of the Franz Schubert Institut in Baden, Austria. During this six-week intensive course Mairi studied German lieder from instructors Roger Vignoles, Andreas Schmidt, Robert Holl, Elly Ameling, Birgid Steinberger, Wolfram Reiger, Julius Drake and Helmut Deutsch. In August 2016, Mairi particpated in the Summer Lied-Studio in Stratford-Upon-Avon, led by Gary Matthewman with Joan Rogers CBE and Cordula Kempe.

Mairi was the coaching Fellow on the Guildhall Opera Course from 2017 to 2019. In August 2017 Mairi graduated with distinction from the Guildhall Artist Masters Programme in Piano Accompaniment where she studied with Laura Roberts. During her time at Guildhall Mairi played in recitals and masterclasses across London, performing at the Barbican, Wigmore Hall, St John’s Smith Square and Milton Court Concert Hall. She has performed in masterclass for Graham Johnson and Martin Katz and has worked with Iain Burnside, Eugene Asti and Gordon Stewart in song projects. In September 2016, Mairi performed songs by Sibelius in the Barbican Concert Hall as part of the LSO Guildhall Artist Platforms. 

Mairi was Associate Accompanist at the University of St Andrews Music Department and was répétiteur for the Byre Opera for their 2015 production of Iphigenie in Tauris. In July 2019 Mairi returned as Music Director for they performances of Vaughn Williams' Riders to the Sea and Dring's A Cupboard Love. Mairi recorded a selection of Messiaen’s vocal and chamber works for the University of St Andrews record label, Sanctiandree. 

She received her undergraduate degree in Piano Performance from Central Washington University where she studied with Dr. John Pickett and Dr. Gayla Blaisedell, Vocal Department.
